Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to manage the Assembly Department, drive Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost results, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You will coordinate with Product Engineers, Production Planner and Production Manager to ensure tasks and milestones are met.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety and quality, achieving delivery targets, leading Lean projects, and mentoring staff on EBOS and ISO

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project, manufacturing or related engineering experience.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to lead programs/projects.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Project management skills to document, plan, and execute programs.
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing; ERP/MRP planning.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety of personnel and addresses safety concerns.
• Ensures quality and re-prioritizes work for quality control.
• Achieves delivery and cost goals; adheres to standard work and work instructions.
• Leads continuous improvement efforts, standard work, and time studies; 5S initiatives.
• Leads manufacturing problem solving and corrective actions; supports shifts.
• Applies lean methodologies including point of use tooling and waste elimination.
• Trains and mentors personnel on EBOS and ISO procedures.

Job Description

The2nd Shift Production Supervisor will be responsible forAssembly Departmentpersonnel and Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost resultswhile leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Candidate willwork in coordination withProduct Engineers, Production Planner, and Production Managerto ensureexecutionoftasksand milestones.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Safety of allpersonnelandimmediately addresses any safety concern.
• Ensures Quality of product built andre-prioritizes work if product must be put on hold for quality department review/disposition.
• Achievement of Delivery and Cost goals; ensuringadherencetostandard work and manufacturing instructions.
• Leadscontinuous improvement efforts,includingdevelopment ofstandard work,balancing of operator loading, execution of time studiesandimplementation of5Sinitiatives.
• Leadsmanufacturing problemsolving efforts, investigatesprocess failures and implementscorrective actionsin support of all shifts.
• ImplementsLean methodologies includingpoint of use tooling, material presentation, waste eliminationand process improvements.
• Trains and mentors assigned personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures, manufacturing documentation and continuous improvement.
• Responsible for accurate time clock reporting of assigned personnel and timecard approvals.
• Ensures accuracy of inventory in production areas and supports weekly cycle counting of product.
• Interfaceswith production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, andproduct engineers.

Requirements

• The successful candidatemust haveaminimumof 3yearsof project, manufacturing or related engineering experience.Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience/educationin the following areas:
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs /projects
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
• Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and in-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems
• Excellent verbal and presentation skills suitable for interaction with production team and with various level of management
• Strong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
