Job summary

Westrock is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the RTD production facility, coach a team, and ensure safety, quality, and production targets. You will manage staffing, train hourly staff, address safety hazards, and drive continuous improvement in operations.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing, strong leadership, and hands-on mechanical skills. Expect a demanding, collaborative environment with weekend/holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Associate degree in Management or Business preferred.
• Experience leading hourly employees.
• Ability to work well under pressure with competing demands in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, including speaking, writing, active listening and taking instruction.
• Good leadership and training skills.
• Excellent mechanical skills, including comfort with using tools to make simple repairs.
• Advanced knowledge of following specifications and manuals.
• Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to pass Better Process Control School.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, assign responsibilities, and motivate the production team to achieve department goals.
• Ensure daily production adheres to schedule and meets all quality standards.
• Work proactively to determine if goals will not be met and adjust staffing levels as needed.
• Identify and address safety hazards and coach personnel in safety initiatives.
• Interpret production schedule and work orders to assure proper materials and specifications are followed.
• Complete all required documents and checklists related to equipment operation.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving basic to moderate operation difficulties.
• Report problems with quality, processes, equipment malfunctions, and materials.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operation difficulties using continuous improvement, document work instructions and resolutions.
• Assure all changeovers, start-ups and shutdowns are performed safely and efficiently.
• Assist in tracking daily KPI numbers.
• Follow all quality system and safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Participate in safety goals and procedures.
• Willingness to work weekends or holidays occasionally due to production demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Department and Company Management.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that production meets Employee Safety, Food Safety, and Quality standards set by Westrock, the food industry (SQF), and Regulatory agencies. This role will work with employees and communicate expectations. They will monitor machine and employee performance with continuous improvement in mind. The operational responsibilities include RTD Production areas.

• Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operation difficulties using continuous improvement, document work instructions and resolutions.
