Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift (4pm-2am) at our Auburn site. The role leads a team in manufacturing operations, ensures a safe work environment, and meets customer demand within cost targets.

You will apply lean tools, mentor team members, manage resources and budgets, and monitor KPIs daily to drive improvements and prevent defects. A strong background in machining and cellular production is preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience with lathes, grinding, or machine shop.
  • Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing practices.
  • Intermediate skill level with MS Office software.

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor leads and directs a team of employees in an assigned area of operations such as Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and/or Test. The Production Supervisor is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to quality standards and is responsible for meeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include the management of employees on more than one shift.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor Performance & Solve Problems: Review KPIs daily and lead problem‑solving using methods like 8 Step, 5 Why, and Fishbone.
  • Ensure Quality & Compliance: Identify and process non‑conforming materials to minimize scrap and rework.
  • Lead & Develop Teams: Allocate resources, make staffing decisions, and coach employees to support business growth.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years supervisory experience; 5+ years of experience with lathes, grinding, or machine shop.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing practices Comfortable teaching the use of manufacturing based continuous improvement skills (standard work, 5S, material replenishment, etc.) Intermediate skill level with MS Office software
  • Skills/Abilities: Effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of the business and present to groups both small and large Ability to align customer demand with manufacturing capacity to develop labor planning/allocations Ability to use data to determine root causes of issues to drive focused corrective action
  • Education / Certification: Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
Eligibility Requirement

This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE. May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes. Requires occasional travel to support customers.

Salary range:100,600 - 131,300 (+10% for shift differential). Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance‑based bonus programs.
