Job summary

Piston Automotive in Michigan is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2:30pm–11:00pm). You will supervise plant employees, plan and assign work, and drive improvements in methods, equipment, and procedures to meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include leading daily production, coaching staff, conducting shift meetings, ensuring training per standard work, and driving continuous improvement across plant operations to meet customer delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience as a Production Supervisor or in a related role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; supervisor certification and green belt preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and meet vision requirements.

• Educates employees on plant safety and enforces policies on the shop floor.
• Reviews daily production requirements and aligns manpower for safe, efficient production.
• Ensures production staff are trained per standard work instructions.
• Leads and coaches teams to meet quality and delivery targets.

• Counsels and administers corrective actions to enforce plant policies.
• Monitors equipment and progress to schedule attainment and resolves issues.
• Completes daily safety, production, and quality reports.

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising plant employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This is the 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Educates employees on plant safety requirements and ensures all policies and procedures are being followed when working on the plant floor.
• Reviews daily production requirements and aligns manpower to run assembly operations safely and in the most efficient manner.
• Ensures all production employees are trained in accordance with and following standard work instructions.
• Manages, motivates, and leads production employees to ensure production requirements are met within quality standards and in accordance with customer delivery schedules.
• Conducts shift meetings to review daily activity and to ensure appropriate communications take place between shifts.
• Coaches, counsels, and administers corrective actions to production employees in the enforcement of plant policies, procedures, and plant rules.
• Monitors equipment and progress to schedule attainment and resolves any issues.
• Completes daily safety, production, and quality reports, as required.
• Ensures employees time and attendance are accurate in the system
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives regarding all plant operations.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience as a Production Supervisor or related experience
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
• Supervisor Certification
• Green Belt Certification
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
