Job summary

CNH Industrial in Wichita, KS, seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead people, materials, equipment, and processes to meet safety, quality, delivery, and profit goals, applying lean tools for continuous improvement.

The role oversees hourly production, budgets, and inventory, coordinates maintenance, and drives Kaizens and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with HR on staffing and training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an Associates degree with three years of manufacturing supervision experience.
  • Alternatively, a high school diploma with five years of manufacturing supervision experience.
  • Ability to lead safety, quality, delivery and cost improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to CNH safety programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Supervise area for abnormalities from standard and take timely actions to address them.
  • Supervise hourly production staff to meet efficiency targets and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Produce quality parts and finished goods meeting established quality goals.
  • Administer operating budgets and monitor results to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Maintain inventory levels and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Pursue continuous improvement activities to improve safety, efficiency, quality and costs.
  • Develop positive employee relations within company policy guidelines.
  • Support HR activities like staffing, pay administration, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate maintenance of department equipment to meet schedules.
  • Administer time standards with Manufacturing Engineering to maintain fair standards.
  • Implement company strategies and process changes at the operating level.
  • Lead Kaizens and Continuous Improvement projects.

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading people, materials, equipment and processes in order to achieve established safety, quality, delivery, and profit goals while maintaining positive employee relations. They will apply lean manufacturing tools and techniques to continuously improve safety, cost, quality, and efficiency in their areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to and implementing CNH safety programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Supervise area for abnormalities from standard in man, material, machine, and method and to take appropriate actions in a timely manner in order deal with this abnormality. This includes abnormalities in the standard processes, standard machine operation, product quality, and logistics management.
  • Supervise and direct hourly employees in the production of parts, components, and finished products to meet established efficiency targets and when missing these targets to develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Produce quality parts and finished goods that meet established quality goals.
  • Administer operating budgets and monitor results to assure departmental objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain required levels of inventory and develop and implement corrective action plans when required.
  • Perform continuous improvement activities aimed at improving safety, efficiency, quality, and costs.
  • Develop and maintain positive employee relations within the guidelines of company policy.
  • Support human resource activities such as employee selection, pay administration, employee counseling, training, performance reviews, discipline for hourly employees, and the administration of policies and agreements.
  • Monitor and coordinate the maintenance of equipment in the department to meet work schedule.
  • Administer and facilitate time standards in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering to maintain fair and proper standards throughout the department.
  • Implement company strategies and process changes at the operational level of the organization.
  • Lead and direct Kaizens and Continuous Improvement projects.
Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree, or an Associates degree plus three (3) years experience in Supervising/Manufacturing, or High School diploma and five (5) years experience in Supervising/Manufacturing.

The annual salary for this role is USD $63,750.00 - $85,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.).

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
