Job summary

Piper Products in Wausau, WI, seeks a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team and promote safety, quality, and operational excellence. The role drives daily production goals, planning, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include coaching, scheduling, monitoring processes, and ensuring GMP compliance while maintaining a collaborative, data-driven culture that supports business objectives and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, motivate, develop, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong business acumen with sound judgment, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement abilities.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and effectively delegate tasks.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Continuous Improvement, or similar operational excellence programs preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of production employees to safely achieve daily production, quality, and performance goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work to ensure production targets and customer requirements are met.
  • Monitor production processes, equipment, staffing, and workflow to maximize efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities, solving problems, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, GMP, and company policies while promoting a clean, organized workplace using 5S principles.
  • Respond to production, equipment, and process issues by coordinating technical or mechanical solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance, to support reliable operations.
  • Maintain positive employee relations through effective communication, coaching, accountability, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operations, resolve issues, and support business objectives.
  • Track production performance, adjust priorities as needed, and communicate results to leadership.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance while supporting production needs.
