Job summary

FXI, a leading foam innovator, seeks a Production Supervisor for 1st shift at the Terrell, TX facility. You will lead hourly teams, uphold safety, quality, and productivity, and coordinate daily production plans to meet customer demand.

Responsibilities include enforcing SOPs, tracking KPIs, coordinating with maintenance and quality, and coaching staff toward continuous improvement. On-site role with potential overtime; the ideal candidate has supervisory manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; AAS or BS degree preferred.
• Experience with MRP/ERP software (SAP preferred).
• Minimum 2 yrs of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility; lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Effective interpersonal skills; team-oriented.
• PC proficiency and software literacy; multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety policies, SOPs, and PPE.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer requirements; monitor production for conformance.
• Plan, schedule, assign, and oversee daily production activities based on demand and resources.
• Review schedules, work orders, and specs to determine labor, materials, and equipment needs.
• Track KPIs: productivity, schedule attainment, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, and waste.
• Manage workforce utilization and overtime to meet production goals while controlling costs.
• Coach and develop hourly associates and production staff toward accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, standard work) and collaboration with maintenance and quality teams.

Site Overview:

Our Terrell, TX facility is a non- union manufacturing plant with approximately 70 employees. The site specializes in producing polyurethane foam and other foam products. As a key location within FXI's manufacturing network, the Terrell plant is known for its strong focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence. Team members work in a collaborative, supportive environment where continuous improvement and innovation play a central role.

Position Overview:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading all aspects of departmental safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and employee performance within assigned production and fabrication areas. This role provides daily leadership to hourly associates and production specialists, coordinates production schedules, ensures compliance with SOPs and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, SOPs, and PPE requirements.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, the Quality Management System (QMS), product specifications, and customer requirements.
• Monitor production operations and stop production when necessary to address safety, quality, or process nonconformance issues.
• Plan, schedule, assign, and oversee daily production activities based on customer demand, staffing levels, equipment availability, and production priorities.
• Review production schedules, work orders, and technical specifications to determine labor, material, equipment, and operational requirements.
• Track and analyze key performance metrics, including productivity, schedule attainment, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, rework, and overall operational efficiency.
• Manage workforce utilization and staffing levels to meet production goals while controlling labor costs and overtime.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop production employees while fostering accountability for safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, process optimization, 5S, Kaizen, standard work, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to minimize downtime, resolve operational issues, and ensure on-time customer delivery.

Key Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. AAS or BS degree preferred
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve production related problems.
• Experience with MRP/ERP software (SAP preferred.
• Minimum 2 yrs. experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing facility.Requires experience with, or knowledge of, lean manufacturing processes.
• Requires effective interpersonal skills and behaviors conducive to a team-oriented environment.
• Requires proficiency in the use of PC's and applications related to the position.
• Must have a positive customer service attitude. Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be available to work any shift including scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required
