Welch Packaging Group is seeking a proven leader to head the Manufacturing department, driving a behavior-based safety culture, producing quality products, and increasing plant efficiency. The role oversees safety, staffing, production metrics, and communication across teams in a full-time, on-site capacity.

You will supervise and develop staff, monitor production performance, enforce policies, and ensure accurate reporting while adapting to location-specific needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Packaging industry experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or training experience.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Organization and attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Time management.
• Systems analysis.
• Mathematical and deductive reasoning.

Responsabilités

• Ensure safety of associates and implement safety procedures.
• Manage, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff.
• Monitor, measure, and report on production performance.
• Communicate effectively with staff in verbal and written forms.
• Identify root causes and take corrective action to resolve problems.
• Maintain housekeeping standards for a clean, safe workplace.
• Make decisions involving quality or scheduling within policy.
• Inform plant superintendent of changes from crews.
• Enforce company policies for attendance, quality, safety, and conduct.
• Maintain and approve employee time cards daily.
• Conduct new employee evaluations weekly during first month.
• Complete RGAs and report order shortages.
• Ensure accuracy of production and quality reporting.
• Duties may vary by location.

Summary

Lead Manufacturing department to create and maintain a behavior-based safety culture, produce quality products and maintain and increase plant efficiencies..

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for safety of associates and implementing safety procedures established throughout the plant.
• Manage, Develop, and motivate direct reporting staff
• Monitor, measure, and report on production related process performance, general issues
• To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
• Maintain and enforce housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace
• Be able to make appropriate decisions involving quality, or scheduling while following the companies organizational structure.
• Communicate with the plant superintendent any changes communicated from crews.
• Enforce and discipline any associates breaking our companies policies (i.e. attendance, quality, safety, associate conduct).
• Maintain and authorize employee time cards on a daily basis
• Conduct new employee evaluations at the end of each week within their first month of employment
• Responsible for the completion of RGAs
• Report and communicate order shortages
• Responsible for correctness of production and quality reporting
• Duties may vary depending on location

Requirements/Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience

• Packaging industry experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or training experience
