Job summary

FastTek Global is seeking a Kansas-based Production Supervisor responsible for leading daily operations and ensuring quality across the assigned area. You will monitor metrics, enforce standards, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with union and management under established guidelines.

This role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and the ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in a production/operations role.
• Production background preferred over a quality background.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce quality standards; communicate department and plant metrics.
• Escalate issues to management following escalation guidelines.
• Implement systems to prevent recurrence of issues via problem solving.
• Build and maintain relationships with employees, union and management (UAW).
• Promote safe work practices and health, safety, and housekeeping objectives.
• Motivate, train and develop employees with job instruction training (JIT).
• Make independent decisions with limited supervision.
• Understand scheduling, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Global Manufacturing System.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for monitoring and enforcing the quality standards of an assigned area. Communication of department and plant quality metrics.
• Escalation of issues to all levels of management following escalation guidelines.
• Implement and follow systems that prevent re-occurrence of known issues through problem solving process. Leverage resources to solve quality issues.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between us and the United Auto Workers Union.
• Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
• Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).
• Able to make decisions independently with limited supervision
• Knowledge of basic technology and standards of area supervised
• Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex
• Well developed oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of scheduling, manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and other management systems
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
• Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
• Knowledge of our Global Manufacturing System
• College degree preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent experience required

• Looking for a candidate with a production background instead of a quality background. Someone with a production background matches better typically with what they are looking for, if they have both this is great but not required
