Job summary

FastTek Global in Lansing, MI is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead UAW hourly production employees in a high-paced manufacturing environment. You will focus on safety, quality, productivity, and cost control while driving improvements.

Responsibilities include motivating staff, solving production problems, implementing tracking/quality systems, hiring/training, and maintaining reports. Requires 4+ years experience and a HS diploma; Associate's preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in production supervision.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control and safety.

Responsibilities

• Motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

• Group Leader to Manage UAW hourly production employees in a high paced manufacturing environment.
• Responsible for the Safety of the employees, the leadership of employees, the quality of product in the area, the rate and downtime problem solving of the area, the cost reduction of scrap and Overtime of the area and high involvement in problem solving.

Summary:

• The main function of a production supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

Skills:

• Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience required.
