Pay Range

$84,200.00 – $115,800.00 annual. This base salary pay range is the amount an applicant can expect to earn upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills and education. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Job Purpose

The Production Supervisor’s role is to supervise the day‑to‑day activities of an hourly production team for a single product line to ensure manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications, schedules, volume, cost and wastage targets, and quality standards. The supervisor coordinates training, enforces safety guidelines, and interfaces with other departments to support production.

Location

Defiance, OH Plant 8, operates 24/7 and produces cured and uncured fiberglass products for the automotive, aerospace, OEM, air handling and pipe & mechanical markets using pot, marble and rotary technologies.

Your Day To Day
  • Supervise, train, and provide direction to production team
  • Plan and schedule equipment utilization and maintain maximum productivity levels
  • Investigate root causes/issues related to scrap, process excursions, quality complaints and fire investigations
  • Ensure production team obeys established operating systems in safety, environmental, quality and process controls and company policies
  • Utilize key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditure control and other shift functions
  • Accurately submit hours worked to payroll for all production employees promptly
  • Transmit production performance statistics/concerns to Production Shift Leaders, Maintenance, and Superintendent and recommend improvements
  • Prepare labor, material and equipment usage reports
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Team
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of production processes
  • Strong aptitude for learning and understanding company policies
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Manages a staff of approximately 60 union‑hourly employees, sets direction, deploys resources, and handles performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring and termination
  • Work environment typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gases/fumes, extensive walking or climbing
  • May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
