Qualifications

Job description

SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will oversee a team of union associates in the Assembly Value Stream at our climate-controlled facility in West Chester, PA. This leader will focus on driving key metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage union associates in a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and the union contract.
  • Hold associates accountable to work rules and performance standards, providing fair discipline and constructive feedback.
  • Coordinate with Planners to assign daily work and productivity targets.
  • Implement daily, weekly, and monthly build plans, ensuring on-time delivery of quality parts.
  • Drive training and cross-training initiatives for all union associates.
  • Collaborate with the second shift supervisor to ensure seamless shift transitions and teamwork.
  • Assess cell demand and determine if measures like overtime or staff re-deployment are necessary to meet delivery dates.
  • Perform Root Cause Counter Measures (RCCM) and monitor SQDIP boards to address issues affecting Safety, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Instill a sense of urgency in the team regarding customer quality and delivery expectations.
  • Lead efforts such as 5S and visual management.
  • Facilitate structured problem-solving activities with union associates and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead safety engagement and initiatives.
  • Conduct ISO and Ergonomic audits as needed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for union associates and address issues effectively.

  • Ability to conduct crucial conversations and enforce discipline fairly.
  • Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and implementing root cause corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Respectful understanding of hourly work and union environment dynamics.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business, or Associates Degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, or 8+ years in a supervisory/engineering/quality role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or medical devices.
  • Previous leadership experience with hourly production associates.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • ISO 9000 and/or 14000 exposure preferred.
  • Microsoft Access experience preferred.
