Job summary

Pixartprinting, a Cimpress company, announces a new facility in Warrendale, PA and seeks a Production Supervisor to lead and develop the production staff on the plant floor. You will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while working hands-on with operators to grow skills and performance.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in manufacturing, strong leadership, and a practical, proactive approach to change.

Qualifications

5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably international.
Proven ability to develop training programs and competency models.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of lean production (Toyota Production System).
Excellent leadership and operational skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
Practical, proactive approach focused on change management.

Responsibilities

Production Supervisor

This role is essential for supporting the development, engagement, and performance of the production staff, helping to build a highly skilled, versatile, and motivated team capable of supporting the plant’s continued growth. The ideal candidate combines a solid understanding of production processes with a strong passion for developing people. Rather than focusing exclusively on production output, this role will involve spending significant time on the production floor, working alongside operators to facilitate learning, strengthen skills, support employee growth, and foster a culture based on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. By serving as a trusted point of reference for employees, they will help strengthen organizational capabilities, develop future leaders, and ensure that the workforce possesses the skills and flexibility necessary to successfully support the plant’s ever‑evolving business needs.

Staff Development

Working with the other production supervisors, to create and maintain a comprehensive skills matrix for all production associates.
Identify skills gaps and define action plans to address them.
Develop individual development plans for operators.
Collaborate with the other production supervisors, HR and the plant manager to define career development paths.
Support succession planning for key roles in production.
Monitor the workforce’s readiness to adopt new technologies, products and processes.

Training and Learning

Design and coordinate onboarding programs for new production employees.
Implement structured cross‑training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility.
Manage certification and qualification programs.
Measure the effectiveness of training through performance metrics and operational results.
Promote a culture of continuous learning throughout the organization.

Performance and Continuous Improvement

Responsibility for scheduling shifts and monitoring time‑related goals.
Monitor key metrics, including:
- Skill coverage
- Cross‑training levels
- Internal promotions
- Training effectiveness
- Churn and retention rates
Employee engagement metrics.
Help identify high‑potential employees and future leaders.
Analyze workforce data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Update the risk matrix to ensure engagement, minimize turnover, and strengthen production output.
Support the plant manager in decisions related to workforce planning.

Requisiti

5–7 years of experience in manufacturing companies, preferably in international settings.
Proven ability to develop training programs and competency models.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of the lean production approach (Toyota Production System).
Excellent leadership and operational skills, with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
A practical and proactive approach, focused on concrete solutions and change management.
