Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor at our Nebraska plant to oversee the timely flow of raw materials and finished products. The role coordinates with Maintenance to keep equipment in good repair and leads continuous improvement efforts to meet safety and production targets.

The position requires 1–2 years in a supervisory role and 2–3 years in an industrial environment, with a High School diploma or GED; an associates degree is preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient flow of raw materials and finished products.
• Oversee equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to repair breakdowns promptly.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in plant operations.
• Meet individual and departmental targets and safety goals.
• Observe safety rules and conduct regular safety meetings with plant staff.
• Assist in accident investigations and make safety recommendations.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient flow of raw materials into high-quality finished products; may also include ensuring that equipment is maintained and in good repair.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received and finished products shipped.
• Oversee the equipment used to process raw & finished materials is kept in good working order.
• Effectively manage all instances of breakdowns and coordinates with Maintenance to ensure needed repairs are made in timely manner.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for achieving individual and department targets, goals and objectives.
• Responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognize safety as top Company priority and conduct/participate regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
• Assist in conducting investigation of accidents that occur within jurisdiction and makes recommendations to Plant Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Require 1-2 years of prior experience in a supervisory/management capacity.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of prior work experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school certificate or Associates Degree preferred.
• Labor relations background and experience with leadership & training.
• Good understanding of production maintenance and repair protocols.
