Job summary

Darling Ingredients in Sioux City, IA, seeks a Production Supervisor to ensure the timely, efficient flow of raw materials into high‑quality finished products and to oversee equipment maintenance. The role requires supervising staff, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining safety standards on the plant floor.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in supervision and 2–3 years in industrial settings, with a high school diploma or GED and a technical certificate or associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory/management experience.
• 2–3 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
• Technical certificate or Associate degree preferred.
• Labor relations background and leadership/training preferred.
• Good understanding of production maintenance and repair protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received and finished products shipped.
• Oversee the equipment used to process raw and finished materials is kept in good working order.
• Effectively manage all instances of breakdowns and coordinate with Maintenance to ensure repairs are made promptly.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for achieving individual and department targets, goals and objectives.
• Responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognize safety as top Company priority and conduct/participate regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
• Assist in conducting investigation of accidents that occur within jurisdiction and make recommendations to Plant Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Require 1-2 years of prior experience in a supervisory/management capacity.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of prior work experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
