Job summary

Amrize seeks a Production Supervisor to lead clinker and cement production at the Brookfield plant in North America. You will drive safety, quality and productivity while coordinating with maintenance and other departments.

You will manage shifts, oversee turnarounds, and report on production metrics, payroll and team development, ensuring adherence to environment, health and safety policies. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in

Qualifications

• Bachelor or college degree in mechanical, chemical, or production.
• 2 years cement manufacturing experience or 5 years production supervisory experience in heavy industry.
• Strong SAP, Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary objective is to lead and coordinate the Production Team in production of clinker and cement in accordance with the safety, environmental, quality and quantity objective for Brookfield plant to meet budgeted requirements and customer needs.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Safety: Commits to working safely at all times and on all sites . Shows safety leadership by reinforcing safety messages at all times . Strong leadership & operational support towards ensuring full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety policies and procedures .
• Production: Protect the plant’s equipment and maximize its utilization and reliability . Produce the forecasted quantities and quality of raw mix, clinker and cement minimizing non-compliance . Ensure that all environmental guidelines are followed and complied with .
• Operations & Turnarounds: Manage the major turnarounds in terms of labour . Make sure that all control parameters of the lab, the control room and the field are met . Coordinate and facilitate key decision making and problem solving with the team when dealing with mechanical, electrical, process, quality, productivity or manpower related problems .
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Represent the production department when coordinating and organizing the team's work with other departments . Promote good relations and communication between the maintenance and production departments .
• Team Leadership & Communication: Provide leadership and ensure communication within a team environment to achieve the production objectives . Ensure cooperation and teamwork within the production teams .
• Reporting & Management Support: Report on the team’s shift activities and observations, safety meetings and production level . Provide coverage for the Production Manager . Complete the weekly payroll for the production teams .
• Employee Relations & Training: Administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement in a fair, firm, and consistent manner . Provide grievance counseling as required . Coordinate training for the production employees .
• Standards & Goal Achievement: Ensure productivity, housekeeping and quality of work standards are maintained within the production department . Achieve personal and departmental goals .
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Education: Bachelor or College or Technologist
• Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical, Chemical, Production
• Required Work Experience: 2 years of cement manufacturing experience OR five years of production supervisory experience in a heavy industry
• Required Technical Skills: Cement manufacturing (an asset), Microsoft Office and Google suites, SAP
• Travel Requirements: 10%

• Excellent knowledge of the cement technology and manufacturing process
• Excellent leadership ability and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with plant and regional personnel
• Ability to work on many tasks at the same time while keeping excellent organizational skills
• Very strong computer skills
• Strong communicator (both oral & written)
• Highly motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals
• Proven ability to work well in a team environment (co-workers, suppliers, etc.)
• Well organized and systematic
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
