  • Maintains quality control procedures and ensures products meet standards.
  • Promotes a safe, 5S-compliant workplace and possible equipment maintenance oversight.

Job description

Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma! The Production Supervisor oversees shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs all production staff including effectively assigning tasks, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Generates production plans and resource scheduling based on staffing, deadlines, materials and equipment and report those plans regularly to Production/Operations Manager.
  • Meets production operational standards by implementing production, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Improves workflow by eliminating stoppages; analyzing delays; trying new methods while utilizing continuous improvement methods and strategic planning.
  • Manages demands on assembly resources for time sensitive projects with respect to other work, bringing to management’s attention conflicts that will compromise quality or timeliness of delivery.
  • Maintains Quality Control Procedures; sets and monitors product standards to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
  • Actively participates in and support lean/AST activities.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment through the use of the 5S program.
  • May demonstrate and/or perform production activities to meet demand or coach employees.
  • May oversee facilities and maintenance responsibilities for the location as required.
  • Associate’s Degree in a manufacturing related discipline, Bachelors preferred.
  • 3 – 8 years of supervisory experience in a production environment is desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a constructive member of a cross-functional team, sharing product and company knowledge as needed.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Strong interpersonal skills; able to inspire and motivate.
  • Root cause analysis, problem identification, and resolution skills

Physical Demands:

  • The role is mostly office-based but does spend considerable time standing and walking on the production floor.
  • May be required to operate a computer, other office devices, as well as some machinery on the production floor.
  • Occasionally may have to lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.
  • Predominately office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor.
  • While on the production floor, employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to put on precautionary, protective wear such as goggles.
