Autonomy Staffing is partnering with a leading chemical manufacturer in Sumter, SC to hire a Production Supervisor who will lead a team of production technicians and guide daily operations with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The role requires 5+ years in chemical/industrial manufacturing and at least 2+ years in a supervisory capacity.

You will collaborate across maintenance, quality, and other departments to meet targets and drive performance on the plant

Qualifications

What You’ll Do

• Supervise and support a team of production technicians on the plant floor
• Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and timelines are met
• Enforce all safety policies and procedures — safety is always the top priority
• Monitor the nylon/polymer production process and address any issues or deviations in a timely manner
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and other departments to keep operations running smoothly
• Track production data and report on key metrics to plant leadership
• Train, coach, and develop team members to build a strong, capable crew
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in chemical, polymer, or industrial manufacturing (nylon or polymerization experience is a plus, but not required)
• 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role — you've led people before and know how to get the best out of a team
• Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, safety compliance, and production workflows
• Strong communicator — comfortable talking to both your team on the floor and leadership in the office
• Ability to troubleshoot process issues and make sound decisions under pressureOrganized and detail-oriented with the ability to track production data and meet deadlines
• A hands‑on, lead‑from‑the‑floor management style

Nice to Have

• Experience with polymerization, nylon resin, or specialty chemical manufacturing
• Familiarity with SAP or similar manufacturing/ERP systems
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field — not required, but a plus
