Job summary

Precoat Metals is seeking a production shift supervisor to lead a team of production workers, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time output. You will oversee shift activities, coordinate with maintenance, shipping, and receiving, and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in a plant environment, a high school diploma or equivalent, strong leadership, and the ability to train and motivate staff across afternoon or night shifts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a plant environment.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required. College degree a plus.
• Process control experience a plus.
• Steel, slitting, coil coating, and other steel related experience strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to train, motivate, and direct production employees.
• Ability to work long & irregular hours in response to customer demands and production matters.
• Willing and able to work an afternoon or night shift position
• Excellent communication & leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements forcompletion of job assignment.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Using your continuous improvement mindset, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance & quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work issues and assists & coaches employeesin solving work problems.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Collaborates with other management to coordinate production activities with other departments.
• Responsible for documenting shift incidents and accidents
