Responsibilities

  • Lead production teams on second shift and occasional third shift.
  • Facilitate daily start up, routine production, and changeover processes using SAP tools.
  • Schedule personnel, including training, callouts, and temporary staff.
  • Maintain records for reprocess and downtime worksheets.
  • Update daily production reports and verify production numbers with warehouse.
  • Implement production plans and ensure adherence to the schedule.
  • Drive GMP/5S compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

This shift leadership role gives production associates direction in safety, quality, and productivity. Facilitates and executes the production department’s action plans. Implements corrective action plans that create long-term solutions to systemic problems. Supports operators to ensure the ongoing operation of the facility. Performs all tasks safely to ensure achievement of Quality, Service, and Cost objectives. Supports and develops standard operating procedures and requirements. The Production Supervisor will work to naturalize and propagate a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture on the production floor by coaching and facilitating the use of the CI toolsets and standard processes to production employees. Responsible for leveraging team-based problem-solving techniques (e.g., Production floor gembas, 5S, root cause, etc.) to investigate, analyze, identify, and mitigate causes of performance gaps on the production line. Responsible for building associate capability and proficiency in operating and maintaining line equipment with the objective of instilling a sense of “machine ownership” in each associate that will be the foundation of the CI initiative. The Supervisor will be accountable for ensuring that production line associates complete the required training matrix for (his/her) line and machine in a specified time determined by plant management. Work involves exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, wetness, heights, dust, moving equipment, vibrations, and vapors. Equipment used includes various pumps, valves, piping, hose, tanks, machinery, computers and associated software, control panel, forklifts, hand tools, copy machine, label makers and any equipment identified in the role. Personal protective equipment includes safety glasses, slip resistant/safety shoes and hearing protection.Employees must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company.Job tasks may involve:Lifting up to 55 pounds.Frequent carrying, reaching, bending, crawling, standing and repetitive motion, and working at heights.Employees will be expected to attend safety and GMP training, serve on the facility safety committee if requested and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.Travel to other sites may periodically be required.We cannot identify all the skills a position may require since job responsibilities and the Company’s needs may change over time.
