Tyson Foods, Inc. seeks a Production Supervisor for the Hutchinson, KS plant within the Prepared Foods Division. You will oversee daily production, quality, yields, and safety, while maintaining accurate records and coordinating line staffing.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on supervision, and collaboration with other supervisors to resolve issues, ensure USDA compliance, and promote continuous improvement on shift 2 (2:15 PM–12:30 AM). Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; vocational or college courses preferred.
• 1+ years manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Some travel to other facilities or corporate may be required.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead an efficient production team.
• Hire, train, retain, and counsel team members; educate on benefits and policies.
• Guide shifts, rotate workstations.
• Review daily production orders for on-time fulfillment and accurate shipments.
• Ensure staffing and machine readiness at start of production.
• Promote safety daily and through monthly safety meetings.
• Collaborate with other supervisors to resolve issues.
• Ensure quality remains a focus; perform other duties as needed.

Join Our Team in the Prepared Foods Division as a Production Supervisor! You can expect your day to day include maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You’ll build the best team possible.
• That includes Hiring, training, Retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems as well as educating your team on benefits, compensations, and company policies.
• You’ll guide the team in stretches before their shift and rotate workstations throughout the shift.
• Checking daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders, ensuring accurate shipments, record keeping, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.
• Ensuring all workstations on your line are staffed before start-up of production.
• Ensuring all machinery is performing and all workstations have passed USDA Inspection Promoting safety daily as well as through monthly safety meetings.
• Overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors in solving problems.
• Providing continuous education on the importance of quality.
• Performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: High school diploma; additional vocational or college courses preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years in a manufacturing environment and prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Special Skills: Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; strong work ethic, and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Travel: Some travel is required. This could be to other facilities or to corporate.
• Preferred Skills (Not Required): Knowledge of food industry processes and equipment, understanding of financial indicators/analysis, and experience in budget development/management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday- Friday 2:15 PM- 12:30 AM, some Saturday's based on business needs, flexibility/reliability needed.
• Location: This role will be Onsite at our Hutchinson Plant; 9 N Washington South Hutchinson, KS 67505.
