Job summary

Modineer Company is seeking a Production Manager for all plants in the Aiken, SC area. You will lead group leaders, drive lean manufacturing initiatives, and coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Program Management to meet production goals.

You will manage overtime, develop training for new production staff, and ensure compliance with 5S, safety, and company policies while maintaining daily presence on the production floor.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive management experience is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Group Leaders and production teams on the floor.
• Coordinate with production schedulers for planning and scheduling.
• Monitor overtime scheduling and limit excess overtime.
• Report production KPIs to Business Unit Leaders weekly.
• Facilitate training for new production employees.
• Collaborate with Quality to address quality concerns and corrective actions.
• Communicate manpower needs to Business Unit Leader and support new part launches.
• Support continuous improvement activities and 5S on the shop floor.

Job Title: Production Manager - (All Plants)

Reports to: Business Unit Leader FLSA Status: EXEMPT

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00AM to 5:00PM) extended hours may be required to support business needs

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing the Group Leaders.
• Support the incorporation of Modineer policies and procedures in production operations.
• In-depth knowledge of production scheduling and work closely with production schedulers.
• Manage overtime scheduling and monitor overtime in production.
• Report production related KPI’s to Business Unit Leaders on a weekly basis.
• Ensure production members are following company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for facilitating the training process of new production employees.
• Comfortable with spending at least half of your day out on the production floor.
• Working hand in hand with the Quality team to make sure that production is up to date with latest quality concerns, corrective actions, and procedures.
• Responsible for understanding and communicating manpower needs to Business Unit Leader.
• Responsible for ensuring successful new part launch in production with support from Program Management
• Carry out management directives to the production floor to encourage and achieve buy-in.
• Understanding of 5S principles and constantly working to improve production floor cleanliness and efficiency.
• Involvement in all continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure Relief in Place procedures are constantly being followed and improved on.
• Effectively interact with employees across all levels of the organization (Sales, Engineering, Program Management, Production, Corporate Management, etc.).
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge :

• 5-7 years of progressive experience in a key leadership/management role in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive management experience is a plus.
• Ability to lead and influence others to achieve targets in a diverse work environment.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and process improvement methodologies including lean manufacturing and six sigma.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP Systems, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.

Physical environment/working conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to go between and office and manufacturing environment daily. All applicable PPE is required while walking the manufacturing floor. Ability to lift at least 10 lbs.
