Production Supervisor

Essential Functions
- Supervise daily operations of the production floor, ensuring shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with legal and food safety requirements.
- Manage and direct assigned shift activities, ensuring products adhere to Niagara’s safety, quality, and throughput standards.
- Maintain effective working relationships with team members through open communication, visibility, and involvement to promote a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
- Analyze production schedule before shift start and adjust team member assignments to meet production targets.
- Verify discrete jobs are correct in Oracle, Warehouse Management System, or Line Management System.
- Coach and develop team members, make employment decisions, resolve issues through conflict resolution, hire, train, and review performance.
- Partner with Human Resources and Production Manager for recruitment, corrective actions, and terminations.
- Inspect raw materials before changeovers to ensure correct inventories for production runs.
- Perform first-pass quality checks after changeovers to prevent non-conforming product.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Department to resolve downtime occurrences on production lines.
- Complete shift reports for production numbers, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality checks for submission to the Production Manager.
- Conduct walkthroughs throughout the shift to ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping compliance.
- Interface with multiple departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Participate in interviews with hiring managers.
- Champion a world-class safety culture through safety talk trainings, daily safety/quality/production meetings, and hourly safety walks.
- Adhere to Niagara’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Standards at all times.
- Develop and recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
- Monitor and review team members’ time and attendance for accuracy.
- Use Efficiency Improvement Tools to analyze line downtime and follow the escalation plan.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work 12‑hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2‑2‑3 schedule or as directed by production demand.
Qualifications
- Minimum: 4 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment, 4 years in a supervisory or equivalent position, and 4 years managing people/projects.
- Preferred: 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment, 6 years in a supervisory or equivalent position, and 6 years managing people/projects.

Education
- Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree.
