JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Description: AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter, and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail, and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• All AMPI employees must report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
• This position has heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
• Work jointly with maintenance to identify equipment issues, establish daily operational priorities, and improve machine uptime.
• Facilitate production expectations with plant personnel, ensuring goals are met daily and monthly.
• Ensure timely equipment setups to meet departmental expectations and efficiencies.
• Monitor production cleanups and provide analytical input to improve labor utilization and sanitation efficiencies.
• Establish training procedures to enhance job knowledge and training effectiveness.
• Build strong relationships with plant personnel, providing leadership, teaching, and effective communication to enforce policies and procedures.
• Act as liaison for the production floor software, addressing system performance issues and training.
• Support the Safety Coordinator by assisting with policy updates and safety program changes.
• Review and approve department payroll.
• Provide absentee coverage for the Natural Supervisor.
• Participate in the annual management review of the Food Safety and Quality system.
• Manage competing demands and adapt approaches as needed.
• Identify and resolve problems promptly through analysis and teamwork.
• Create a positive team environment, building morale and group commitment to goals.
• Manage projects by creating workable plans, communicating changes, and building commitment.
• Develop realistic action plans, prioritize tasks, and plan resources.
