Responsibilities

• Supervise production and processing personnel daily to meet production objectives and customer expectations.
• Monitor schedules, maintain housekeeping, and ensure safety standards with daily reports.
• Inspect line set ups daily; coordinate with maintenance for peak equipment performance.
• Oversee cleaning and sanitation to CGMP standards; ensure proper housekeeping.
• Coordinate with maintenance for daily servicing of equipment.
• Communicate with other departments to achieve objectives.
• Develop and train employees in production operations and back-up planning.
• Ensure adequate supplies to meet production schedules with daily materials coordination.
• Develop procedures and monitor compliance to standardize production functions.
• Set plant goals and create measurement mechanisms with site management.
• Facilitate communication of goals and ideas for process improvement via work teams.
• Identify process improvements and follow through on implementation.
• Identify CCPs daily and monitoring methods.
• Ensure proper shift handoffs with prior/following supervisors.
• Manage shift employees, timecards, and time-off requests.
• Ensure all safety, Environmental & Health requirements are met.
• Overtime as needed; comply with GMP requirements.
• Take corrective actions as required.

Production Supervisor 2nd Shift – Plymouth

Supervises the process of production and its employees to maintain the production efficiencies, the quality of production and the cost standards associated with each process. Keeps the lines of communication open within departments and ensures customer requirements are met for each order produced.

This is an Exempt position.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise production and processing personnel daily, to accomplish production objectives in an efficient manner that meets customer expectations.
• Observes operations and ensures schedules are being met daily, maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping, and ensure safety standards are being maintained. Submits daily reports summarizing production operations.
• Inspects and tests production and processing line set ups daily to ensure proper operation of all equipment. Requests maintenance of and/or modifications to facilities and equipment, as required, to operate peak efficiency.
• Arranges for the cleaning and sanitation of production and processing facilities and maintains an acceptable level of housekeeping and sanitation with the department, to meet CGMP’s.
• Works with maintenance department, daily servicing production and processing equipment to ensure proper performance.
• Coordinates with other departments daily, as they apply to production and processing to accomplish objectives.
• Develops and trains employees in the operation of the production and processing department to be certain employees are properly trained and back-up employees are available. Recommends developmental opportunities to employees to improve knowledge base.
• Ensures that there are adequate quantities of supplies to meet planned production schedules. Daily communication with Materials Management to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Develops methods and procedures with input from employees that assure standardized performance of specific production functions. Monitors the procedures to ensure compliance.
• Develops plant goals and objectives and mechanisms for measurement of progress with the aid of site management.
• Works closely with employees through work teams to facilitate communication of goals, objectives and ideas for process improvement.
• Continually monitors processes and identifies areas for improvement. Makes recommendations for the improvement and follow-up on implementation.
• Identifies CCP’s daily, and methods of monitoring.
• Communicates with previous and/or following shift supervisors daily to ensure proper transfer of all pertinent processing information.
• Manage employees on the shift including corrective actions, timecard approval and time off management.
• Ensure all employees operate with the safety, Environmental & Health requirements of Zentis.
• Required to work Overtime as needed.
• Ensure all employees operate with all the GMP requirements of Zentis.
• Perform the required employee corrective actions and follow ups with as required.

Formal Education Required:

• BS or BA degree or equivalent required.

Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements:

• 4 years’ experience in production/processing, 2 years’ experience in Management Supervision, QA, Production Scheduling, Sanitation, and any Regulatory Agency Requirements.
