Production Supervisor

This position is responsible for supervising daily operations of the production floor; ensuring the shift meets safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and direct activities of the assigned shift, ensuring product safety, quality, and throughput standards are met.
  • Maintain effective working relationships through open communication, visibility, and involvement to promote a positive environment that maximizes safety, engagement, productivity, and throughput.
  • Analyze the production schedule before shift start and adjust team member assignments to meet targets. Verify jobs in Oracle, Warehouse Management System, and Line Management System.
  • Coach and develop team members, handle employment decisions, and resolve issues through conflict resolution. Collaborate with HR and Production Manager for recruitment, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Inspect raw materials before changeovers, perform quality checks post-changeover, and collaborate with Maintenance to resolve downtime issues.
  • Complete shift reports on production, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality for submission.
  • Conduct walkthroughs to ensure safety, quality, and cleanliness standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet customer deadlines.
  • Participate in hiring interviews and promote a safety culture through trainings and meetings.
  • Adhere to safety programs, GMP, and Food Safety Standards. Suggest improvements to production methods and equipment use.
  • Monitor team members' attendance and utilize tools to understand line downtime, escalating issues as needed.
  • Work 12-hour shifts, day or night, on rotating schedules as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years experience in manufacturing or similar environment
  • 4 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience managing people and projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years experience in manufacturing environment
  • 6 years experience in a supervisory role

Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of production processes and controls
