Summary
Oversees the daily operations of a production facility, ensuring efficient workflow, high quality standards, and adherence to safety regulations, monitoring production schedules, addressing quality issues, and implementing process improvements to meet production targets while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards; essentially leading and coordinating the manufacturing process to maximize output and minimize errors.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and coordinating the activities of the employees. Including daily production, equipment needs, raw material and finished goods put away.
- Works with minimal supervision so the person must be a leader with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ensure all employees on the shift are following established procedures, managing performance, and presenting corrective action as needed.
- Evaluate problems and take appropriate action to allow employees to complete their work.
- Train employees in company policies and procedures.
- Manage the safety on the shift to ensure no accidents or injuries occur. If needed, conduct safety investigations regarding work-related incidents and injuries.
- Analyze and communicate Daily production, machine down time and goals to employees and Management.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are met and the production area is maintained in a neat and organized manner.
- Ensure the security of the facility is maintained during the shift.
- Perform additional tasks and projects assigned.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing Supervision experience: 3 years (Required)
- Experience with a BMS (Business management system (SAP, AS400, NetSuite etc...) a plus.
- Ability to effectively manage a staff of 15 - 20 employees.
- Should possess familiarity with production equipment and have an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to write SOP’s, performance reviews, recommend performance improvement plans and the ability to communicate department goals, objectives, and processes with employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure, possessing an exceptional sense of urgency.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, troubleshoot issues, schedule, organize, coordinate, train, and prepare operating procedures with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Move products, supplies, and boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling.
