  • Experience with ERP/MES and Microsoft Office.

Startup Environment Notice: As a startup, our operations are still evolving. The supervisor selected for this role will initially work day shift to complete training, learn our manufacturing processes, partner with leadership and HR, and help build and staff their future team. Once operations are ready, this position will transition to its permanent 2nd or 3rd shift schedule. We're looking for someone who is adaptable, flexible, and excited to help build a growing operation from the ground up.

Role Summary

The Shift Supervisor leads assigned production shifts to achieve safety, quality, throughput, and labor performance goals. This role supervises frontline production teams, enforces food safety and operating standards, and ensures that production objectives are met with high efficiency and consistency. The Shift Supervisor drives teamwork, coaching, and problem-solving in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, decision-making under pressure, and the ability to collaborate across functions such as Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.

Core Responsibilities

Shift Operations Leader: Deliver safe, on-time, and efficient production results.

  • Lead daily production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
  • Monitor line performance and adjust staffing or priorities as needed.
  • Communicate shift results and operational updates to leadership.

Safety & Compliance Champion: Uphold food safety and workplace standards.

  • Enforce GMPs, sanitation protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Address safety concerns and partner with Quality on deviations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety policies across the shift.

Team Leader & Coach: Build accountability and performance on the floor.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop production leads and operators.
  • Set clear expectations and provide performance feedback.
  • Support training and workforce development initiatives.

Performance & Problem-Solving Driver: Improve reliability and efficiency.

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and downtime issues.
  • Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment uptime.
  • Monitor KPIs (throughput, yield, scrap, labor) and drive corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Partner: Align production with plant objectives.

  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Quality to ensure material flow and product integrity.
  • Escalate risks and support new product launches or process changes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in food, CPG, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety (HACCP/SQF), and production operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in production tracking systems (ERP/MES) and Microsoft Office preferred.
