Job summary

ELIXIR MEDICAL CORPORATION is seeking a Production Lead in Milpitas, CA for an onsite role. You will direct daily activities of Production Technicians and coordinate tasks based on skills and production needs. The position emphasizes planning, scheduling, and adherence to FDA/ISO guidelines.

It requires 7+ years of education/experience, 1–3 years in medical device manufacturing, ERP proficiency, and strong communication. Salary ranges from 110k to 125k annually, with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of education or equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience.
• 1–3 years' experience in Manufacturing (production planning/scheduling) in medical devices.
• Minimum 2 years experience with ERP system transactions.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in personnel production line coordination with direct supervisory duties.
• Ability to follow established written procedures with minimal supervision.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform basic calibration or troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, organize and direct daily activities for Production Technicians.
• Assign production tasks based on skills and product requirements; cross-train.
• Track productivity, yield and WIP goals; pursue improvements.
• Implement productivity and yield improvements; line balancing.
• Issue LHRs to floor for final assembly production.
• Create sub-assembly build plans; issue LHRs for sub-assembly production.
• Consolidate build requests and schedule according to priorities.
• Allocate and kit components for builds; manage work orders in ERP.
• Review in-process LHRs for accuracy; resolve issues with Quality.
• Replenish raw material inventory; notify Purchasing for orders.
• Perform cycle counting and physical inventory; reconcile discrepancies.
• Maintain clean, safe work area per safety/hazmat guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with FDA and ISO guidelines for medical devices.
• Maintain training compliance for documents and procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Responsible for leading, planning, organizing and directing all daily activities for the Production Technicians.
• Assigning production tasks to employees based on their skill sets and the production requirements of the product; Cross-training matrix
• Track/meet productivity goals; track/meet yield goals; track/meet WIP goals
• Recommend and implement productivity and yield improvements
• Line balancing
• Issue LHRs to the manufacturing floor for final assembly production
• Based on Finished Goods / Clinical build plan, create Sub-Assembly build plans; issue LHRs to the manufacturing floor for Sub-Assembly production
• Consolidate other build requests such as R&D or other Engineering builds; schedule according to priorities
• Allocate and kit components for builds
• Open and close Work Orders in ERP, including allocations, insuring accuracy to Material Transfer Forms
• Review in-process LHRs for completeness and accuracy; resolve issues with Quality
• Replenish raw material inventory; notify Purchasing of ordering requirements
• Perform cycle counting and physical inventory counts; reconcile discrepancies
• Maintain work area cleanliness and compliance with various safety, fire, and hazmat guidelines
• Execute work in a manner compliant with FDA and ISO guidelines for medical device development and manufacture
• Maintain compliance with all document and procedure training requirements

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 7 years of education or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
• Minimum 1 - 3 years' experience in Manufacturing (production planning / scheduling) in the medical device industry
• Minimum 2 years of experience with ERP system transactions preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience in personnel production line coordination (direct supervisory experience and equipment maintenance a plus)
• Ability to follow established written procedures with minimum supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to lift / carry up to 25 lbs.
• Some hands on capability of machine calibration and troubleshooting preferred

Education Requirements

• AA/AS degree in technology field or equivalent
• BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Technology preferred

This position is based in Milpitas, CA and is an onsite position. The salary range of $110K - $125K based on factors including experience, skills, etc.
