Job summary

Gestamp in the United States seeks an Assembly Team Leader for 2nd shift to lead a production team, supervise standardized work, train operators, and drive lean improvements.

You will own the value stream, ensure product and process quality, participate in TPM, and mentor teammates while maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Lean manufacturing training is a plus.
  • Associates Degree from an accredited institution is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Any technical skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leader of standardized work documentation and execution.
  • Assist team members in continual operation improvements.
  • Able to perform all job-related functions of the operation.
  • Train team members in lean tools and systems.
  • Responsible for product and process quality.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts initially.
  • Participate in TPM and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Assist operators in TPM implementation.
  • Assess and develop team-improvement goals.
  • Provide visual reporting of operational measures.
  • Support waste elimination initiatives.
  • Responsible for safety.
  • Perform production work when team members are absent.

Assembly Team Leader - 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARY

Working Leader of a team in support of all manufacturing process. Supports & Trains Team Members in all Essential Functions & Skill Sets required to Continually Improve the Process. Responsible for the Value Stream of there area of operation. Also responsible for all production processes and supportive lean systems of there area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leader of Standardized Work Practices Documentation and Execution
  • Assists other Team Members in Continually improving the Operation
  • Is Required to be able to Proficiently Perform all Job Related Functions of the Operation
  • Trains team members in the application of Lean Tools & Systems
  • Responsible for Product and Process Quality
  • Initially Leads Problem Solving Efforts
  • Actively participate in and help to design TPM and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Assist operators in TPM implementation.
  • Responsible for Assessment & Development of Team Improvement Goals
  • Visual Reporting of Operational Measures
  • Supports the Continual Pursuit of Waste Elimination
  • Responsible for Safety
  • Will Perform Production Work When Team Members are Absent

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Having been trained in Lean Manufacturing Principals is a plus
  • A minimum of an Associates Degree from an accredited educational institution a plus
  • Must have the Ability to Work in a Team Based Environment
  • Any Technical Skills are a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Has experience with PC based systems Microsoft applications
  • Must have excellent people and communication Skills
  • Must Handle Physical Demands of Production Operations

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
  • Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time

  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
