Job summary

Buzzi Unicem USA in Texas (Maryneal area) seeks a Plant Supervisor to oversee the shift production crew and maintain safe, efficient kilns, mills and auxiliaries to produce quality cement products.

Responsibilities include enforcing SOPs, ensuring compliance with MSHA and environmental rules, and maximizing equipment throughput while supporting a unionized plant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required; 2-year associate degree preferred
• 2 years supervisory experience
• 5 years experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
• Experience supervising in a union environment is preferred
• Control room or lab experience is preferred
• Ability to work rotating shifts to support 24/7 plant operations
• Experience working in the cement, lime or aggregate industry is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

• Responsible for following company Standard Operating Practices for plant operations.
• Must ensure all employees and contractors in the plant work in a safe manner, which is consistent with company work rules and MSHA standards.
• Must ensure the plant is run in a manner, which will avoid serious damage to equipment.
• Will run the plant in compliance with environmental regulations and ensure that product is manufactured to company standards.
• Must also ensure that equipment operating time and through put is maximized in a manner that is consistent with the company’s practices and policies.
