Job summary

Novolex in Logan, Utah is looking for a Production Supervisor who will manage and coordinate production shift activities. You will ensure productivity, quality, and cost control while supervising over 40 employees.

We seek a candidate with a BA/BS in business or engineering and 2+ years of manufacturing experience. The role includes hiring, training, and mentoring team members, as well as maintaining effective production data reporting.

Qualifications

• Preferred BA/BS degree in business or engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience.
• Preferred supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage production shifts to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
• Supervise 40+ employees and ensure team performance.
• Coordinate with Scheduler for daily production needs.
• Conduct performance appraisals and administer employee rewards.

Job Description

• Manage, direct and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
• Typically supervises 40 plus employees.
• Coordinate with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring & training employees.
• Planning, assigning & directing work.
• Appraising performance.
• Rewarding & disciplining employees.
• Addressing complaints & resolving problems.
• Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis.
• Support & improve upon Quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals.
• Ensures safety programs are implemented effectively, reviewed regularly and revised as necessary.

Job Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred (business, engineering).
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in group situations.
• Ability to deal effectively with conflict in mature & consistent manner.
• Good computer skills.
• SAP experience preferred.
