Job summary

Tecomet is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee assigned personnel on the production floor. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation, and a win-first culture while meeting financial metrics.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating daily activities, interviewing and hiring, and leading Kaizen/Six-Sigma initiatives. The position requires 5–7 years of manufacturing experience, machining skills, and strong leadership abilities.

Qualifications

  • Five to seven years manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four year of machining experience.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer, keyboard, and various software programs.
  • Knowledge of various office equipment.
  • Knowledge of department specific documentation such as: recordkeeping, quality standards, efficiency standards, operational processes, material, equipment and design standards.
  • Department specific technical knowledge such as 5S & O.E.E. knowledge, Lean Manufacturing principles, Manufacturing processes, CNC Machining, blueprint reading, gage and fixture design/build, GD & T, inspection/measuring equipment as it relates to the department needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff engaged in operational activities on designated shift; accountable for performance.
  • Ensures execution of daily activities on shift; adjusts work procedures/schedules to meet targets.
  • Evaluates work performance, provides feedback, and conducts evaluations.
  • Involved in interviewing, hiring and selecting candidates.
  • Administers coaching, counseling, and corrective action.
  • Oversees training process and Employee Training Records (ETR).
  • Engages in daily GEMBA to support product flow between departments.
  • Reviews operational documentation for accuracy and drives ownership of countermeasures.
  • Ensures Safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards are met.
  • Participates in Kaizen and Six-Sigma activities to improve results.
  • Works with area leaders to resolve issues via GEMBA and other processes.
  • Reviews prior days production output and makes corrections.
  • Verifies employee time keeping records and adjusts as needed.
  • Monitors supply levels and coordinates with suppliers/contractors.
  • Leads periodic employee meetings and manages shift coverage as needed.

Job description

Overseesanddirects activities ofassignedpersonnel according to daily production requirements by performing the following duties.The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

  • Supervises staff engaged in operational activities on designated shift; accountable for the performance of Cell Leads and other assigned employees.
  • Ensures execution of daily activities of department staff on designated shift; establishes or adjusts work procedures/schedules to support business targets.
  • Evaluates work performance, provides regular feedback, and administers performance evaluations to assigned staff.
  • Involved in interviewing, hiring and selecting candidates.
  • Administers coaching, counseling, and corrective action to assigned employees.
  • Oversees training process, inclusive of the Employee Training Records (ETR), for assigned employees in proper techniques for given operations or jobs.
  • Engages in daily GEMBA process to ensure support and engagement of employees, as well as product flow between departments.
  • Reviews operational documentation for accuracy and drives timely ownership and resolution to area Countermeasures.
  • Ensures Safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards are met.
  • Actively participates in Kaizen and Six-Sigma activities to support Policy Deployment / CIP and improve operating results.
  • Works with area leaders on production issues and communicates with other departments as needed to resolve issues via GEMBA and other available processes.
  • Reviews prior days production output and makes corrections as needed.
  • Verifies employee time keeping records and adjusts as needed.
  • Monitors supply levels for assigned areas and works in conjunction with outside suppliers and contractors as needed.
  • Required to support all departments on shift as needed not only departments assigned on regular basis.
  • Leads periodic employee meetings as needed or assigned.
  • Responsible for the overall supervision of employees, in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
    • Accountable for interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising and rewarding performance; disciplining; suspending and discharging employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Also responsible for managing safety, 5S, and Gemba countermeasures, HS&E incident reporting and corrective actions, input and trends for statistical process control (SPC) via WinSPC, preventative maintenance and gage calibration schedules and adherence, as well as employee training records (ETR).
  • Work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.
  • Must develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships.
  • Must be sufficiently adaptable to accept and perform in a timely and effective manner with minimal or no advanced notice.
  • Effectively meets communication expectations with other members of management as defined by the organization.
  • Additional duties as requested by management.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • Five to sevenyears manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four year of machining experience.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience.

Pay Range

Pay Range The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay. The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience. $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 / year
