Job summary

Tecomet in Indiana is seeking a CNC Machinist I to produce machined parts by operating a CNC machine, adhering to drawings and quality and safety standards, and maintaining equipment and records. You will work within Tecomet's continuous improvement culture and drive productivity.

The role requires routine maintenance, tool changes, precise measurement, and adherence to GMP/GDP while actively supporting 5S and teamwork to meet production targets.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a production environment (E/D) preferred.
  • Associate's degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
  • GCSE/NVQ Math and English desirable (UK only).

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines within tolerances per work instructions and drawings.
  • Change dull tooling and minor offsets for tool wear.
  • Use measuring equipment and interpret inspection reports for quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance per daily PM checklist.
  • Conduct hand finishing and follow GMP/GDP practices.
  • Record activities in the job tracking system and support continuous improvement.

Job description

The CNC Machinist I Produces machined parts by operating a computer numericalcontrol(CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

  • Operate CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings.
  • Change dull tooling, and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear.
  • Ensure product quality is achieved by working to operator owned quality(OOQ)standards and requirements including using a range of measuring equipmentand interpretinginspection reports.
  • Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere toPMschedule.
  • Perform hand finishing.
  • Always Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) including completion of job routers/ cards.
  • Ensure safe working practices are carried out to minimize risks to the job holder and/or colleagues, including identifying and reporting Safety, Health & Environmental issues.
  • Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways of improving productivity.
  • Record all activities in a timely manner on the job tracking system.
  • Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Identify and elevate manufacturing issues to the Team Leader and/or Supervisor, participating in the resolution as required.
  • Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards within work area.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)required
  • Experience of working in a production environment (E/D)
Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:
  • Associate's degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeshippreferred.
  • GCSE/NVQ Math and English is desirable (UK only)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability or demonstrable aptitude to operate and maintain a CNC Machine
  • Solid necessary math skills, including measuring and keeping count records
  • Effective at planning, prioritizing and organizing tasks and activities with the ability to deal with competing demands within specified timescales
  • Able to follow work instructions, proven record of quality, and on-time production runs
  • Demonstrable commitment to safety at all times
  • Attention to detail alongside ability to perform repeatable task over a prolonged period of time
  • Positive attitude, reliable, and a team player
  • Ability to identify problems and elevate as required
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay.
The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience. $21.00 - $24.00 / hour
