Job summary

Hunter Recruiting's client seeks a Production Supervisor to lead shift operations, direct hourly associates, and ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets are met across the plant.

You will foster a strong safety culture, coach teams on safe work practices, implement TPM and continuous improvement initiatives, and develop talent through clear performance expectations and structured training plans.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or related settings.
• Experience leading teams and developing talent in a fast-paced environment.
• Lean, TPM, or continuous improvement experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and aligned with plant goals.
• Coordinate and verify completion of safety training and monthly safety initiatives.
• Promote a strong safety culture by coaching on safe work practices and compliance with standards.
• Communicate customer expectations and ensure production schedules support delivery and quality requirements.
• Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Drive TPM and continuous improvement, including Autonomous Maintenance and Focused Improvement.
• Lead, coach, and develop hourly associates with clear performance expectations and training plans.
• Support cost reduction, productivity improvement, and waste elimination through standard work and resource planning.

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading shift operations, directing hourly associates, and ensuring consistent performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee engagement. This role plays a key part in achieving plant objectives by reinforcing operational standards, developing talent, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

• Lead shift operations and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with plant goals.
• Coordinate and verify completion of required safety training, monthly safety initiatives, and incident follow-up actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture by coaching team members on safe work practices and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
• Communicate customer expectations and ensure production schedules support delivery commitments and quality requirements.
• Investigate quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and partner with operators to implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Drive TPM and continuous improvement efforts, including Autonomous Maintenance and Focused Improvement activities.
• Lead, coach, and develop hourly associates through clear performance expectations, feedback, documentation, and training plans.
• Support cost reduction, productivity improvement, and waste elimination through standard work and resource planning

Production Supervisor Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or military settings.
• Experience leading teams, making high-impact decisions, and developing talent in a fast-paced environment
• Employee and labor relations experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Lean, TPM, or continuous improvement experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills, a change-agent mindset, and a safety-first approach.
