Job summary

Tenneco is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing teams, ensuring safety, quality, and timely production to meet customer orders. The role requires hands-on leadership, process discipline, and coordination across shifts.

Responsibilities include resource planning, priority communication, escalation handling, and driving continuous improvements while adhering to Tenneco's standards and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 year leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving, proven skill on driving problems solving based on at least one methodology such as A3, 8D’s, 5Why’s, Shiny, etc.
  • Lean Principles knowledge (Basic knowledge or part of implementation teams).

Responsibilities

  • Assure the availability and efficient assignment of resources.
  • Ensure correct execution of processes (Safety, Quality, etc).
  • Communicate priorities and tasks clearly.
  • Lead and communicate the escalation process.
  • Achieve the Production plan.
  • Coordinate activities related to gaps or deviations of production consumables.
  • Meet established goals and KPIs.
  • Initiate and lead corrective actions vs deviations; problem solving.
  • Improve multiskills/training matrix within area.
  • Follow up and execute defined systems.
  • Prepare production reports at end of shift.
  • Manage shift schedule from start to end, meetings and priorities.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising team members in the production of quality products to meet customer order requirements and ensures compliance with all safety and health, environmental quality, quantity, and housekeeping standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To assure the availability and efficient assignment of resources
  • Assure the correct execution of processes (Safety, Quality, etc)
  • Assure a clear communication of priorities and tasks
  • Lead and communicate the correct escalation process
  • Responsible of achievement of the Production plan
  • Coordinate activities related to gaps or deviations of production consumables
  • Achievement of established goals and KPI´s
  • Initiate and Lead corrective actions vs deviations ”Problem Solving”
  • Execute improvements on multiskills/training matrix from his/her area.
  • Follow up and execution of our defined systems
  • Production report at the end of the shift.
  • Manage Shift schedule from Start to end, meetings, priorities, leading support areas according to the area needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE
  • 1 year leadership in a manufacturing environment
REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving, Proven skill on driving problems solving based on at least one methodology such as A3, 8D’s, 5Shy’s, Shiny, etc.)
  • Welding & Bending basic processes (Desirable)
  • Efficiency (Labor Efficiency, OEE metrics knowledge)
  • Basic SAP & Scrap reporting knowledge (preferred)
  • Knowledge of behavioral based Safety practices
  • Basic Quality System (ISO-IATF) (Experience managing Departments under these requirements).
  • Lean Principles knowledge ( Basic knowledge using them or being part of implementation Teams)
  • Waste knowledge (3M Muri-muda-mura)
  • Understanding of principles of 5´s
  • Computer basics Software knowledge ( Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Conflict Management
  • Analysis capacity
  • Planning and organization.
  • Setting discipline by a positive Leadership.
  • Lead by the example
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Flexibility to work long hours and other work schedules as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 – 100 lbs.
  • Extensive standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending over, reaching, twisting, arm wrist and hand motion,
  • Good visual ability
  • Frequent skin exposure to chemical – based fluids such as coolant, drawing compounds, lubricating oils, etc
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This job is performed in all areas of building facility including offices and production plant floor on all equipment and machines
  • Varying temperatures (cold to hot)
  • Infrequent exposure to outside weather environment
  • Fast – paced work environment
  • Small, confined space around some machines/equipment
  • Wet, slippery floors in some areas
