Job summary

Precoat Metals is seeking a supervisor to oversee daily production activities on a shift, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity across production, shipping & receiving and maintenance.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to train and motivate employees; long/irregular hours and afternoon or night shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years in a plant environment.
• HS Diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is a plus.
• Process control experience is a plus; steel, slitting and coil coating experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to train, motivate and direct production employees.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours in response to customer demands and production matters.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of production workers on a shift.
• Ensure safety, quality, production, shipping & receiving, and maintenance on the assigned shift.
• Collaborate with management to coordinate production activities with other departments.

Job Description

Using your strong leadership & communication skills, you willsupervise & coordinateday to day activities of production workers on a shift. You will be responsible for safety, quality, production, shipping & receiving, and maintenance on an assigned shift. Some of your responsibilities will include the following:

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements forcompletion of job assignment.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Using your continuous improvement mindset, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance & quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work issues and assists & coaches employeesin solving work problems.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Collaborates with other management to coordinate production activities with other departments.
• Responsible for documenting shift incidents and accidents

Qualifications

As the selected candidate, youwill have the following experience:

• 3 to 5years in aplant environment.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required. College degree a plus.
• Process control experience a plus.
• Steel, slitting, coil coating, and other steel related experience strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
