Job summary

Black Tie Components, LLC, located in Hartford, South Dakota, is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our on-site manufacturing team responsible for saw, assembly, and finishing of trusses and wall panels on the plant floor. This hands-on leadership role requires you to motivate crews, uphold safety standards, and drive daily production planning in a busy wood component shop.

• 3+ years of manufacturing production experience.
• At least 1 year of experience supervising or leading a production crew.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the daily production of trusses and wall panels to meet production schedules and output goals.
• Leading, training, coaching, and developing hourly production employees, including sawyers, assemblers, material handlers, and line crew.
• Promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture.
• Enforcing safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards.
• Monitoring production line efficiency, throughput, scrap, and quality.
• Identifying production issues and helping resolve them quickly.
• Coordinating with the Production Scheduler and QA/QC Lead to keep jobs on schedule.
• Working with the Plant Manager to coordinate preventive maintenance and help minimize equipment downtime.
• Monitoring employee performance and holding production teams accountable.
• Reporting production results, challenges, and key metrics to the Plant Manager.

About the Role

Black Tie Components is looking for an experienced, hands-on Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in Hartford, South Dakota.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing day-to-day production on the plant floor and leading the crews that saw, assemble, and finish trusses and wall panels. This role is responsible for production efficiency, output, quality, safety, and the development of hourly production employees.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable leading from the floor, holding teams accountable, solving problems quickly, and helping create a safe and productive work environment.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor and may also include work in the yard.

The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching throughout the workday. Employees will regularly work around manufacturing equipment, saws, presses, moving machinery, noise, dust, and changing temperatures.

The Production Supervisor must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally heavier items with assistance.

Personal protective equipment is required, along with adherence to all plant safety, machine-guarding, and lockout/tagout procedures.
