Job summary

Central Valley Meat Company is seeking a Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily fabrication operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, yield, and efficiency goals. You will lead a team, manage resources, and work with USDA inspectors to meet standards.

Responsibilities include training, scheduling, records maintenance, and driving process improvements while maintaining strict safety and GMP practices in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• Beef processing experience.
• 3+ years of shipping management experience.
• Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP and safety protocol.
• Experience in shipping distribution, logistics or cold storage operations.
• Proficient in inventory management systems and MS Office.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Spanish communication is a plus but not required.

Salary Range: $71,000.00 - $75,000.00

The Fabrication Supervisor oversees daily operations in the assigned fabrication area, ensuring production meets safety, quality, yield, and efficiency goals. This role is responsible for enforcing company and regulatory standards, building employee engagement, and managing resources to achieve operational targets.

Daily Responsibilities

• Supervise daily fabrication operations, ensuring compliance with EHS, food safety, and quality standards.
• Lead and develop employees, fostering a collaborative, safety-focused work environment.
• Monitor staffing, job assignments, and rotations to meet production demands.
• Conduct new hire and position-transfer training, ensuring proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
• Enforce safety and food safety policies, taking immediate corrective action when needed.
• Maintain accurate records, including work orders, training documentation, safety letters, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with USDA inspectors to ensure all products meet regulatory and company specifications.
• Drive operational improvements, including yield optimization, cost control, and employee retention.
• Plan and organize production schedules based on product types, quantities, and delivery dates.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive operating knowledge of food service and retail distribution.
• Beef processing experience.
• Proven experience in shipping distribution, logistics, or cold storage center operations with a focus on shipping & receiving.
• 3+ years of working experience in shipping management.
• Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP standards, GMP practices, and safety protocol adherence is essential.
• Strong leadership skills with prior shipping supervisor or team management experience.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skilled in process improvement methodologies such as lean management to enhance operational efficiency.
• Experience in operating material handling equipment including forklifts (sit down and stand-up) and other heavy lifting tools; forklift certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control practices, materials handling procedures, and OSHA safety standards.
• Excellent managerial communication skills for effective team leadership and coordination across departments.
• Ability to manage shipping operations efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
• Familiarity with RF scanners, inventory management systems, and logistics software for real-time tracking and reporting.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Written and Oral English communication skills.
• Spanish communications skills ideal but not required.
• Knowledge of Adage ERP and Assistics inventory systems ideal but not required.
