Job summary

SIGMA DESIGN has partnered with a world-leading lab diamond and super-materials producer to fill a Production Supervisor role in Gresham, OR. This full‑time position oversees daily operations, ensures safety, and drives on‑time production.

You will lead Line Leads and production staff, coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering, monitor workflow, and push process improvements through Lean Six Sigma and related methods.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage production plans to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
• Lead daily production operations through Line Leads, providing direction and ensuring work follows the production plan.
• Monitor production performance and material flow to identify delays and issues.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, MES, and other teams to resolve problems and minimize disruption.
• Conduct shift handoffs and communicate production status, changes, and priorities.
• Supervise and coach production staff, including providing direction and performance feedback.
• Participate in hiring, scheduling, timecard and vacation approvals, and related activities.
• Maintain focus on safety and a productive work environment.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and participate in Lean Six Sigma or 6S projects.
• Own improvement projects focused on optimizing processes, workflow and team performance.

SIGMA DESIGN has collaborated with a global company seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their facility in Gresham, OR. This company has been operating for over 50 years and is recognized as the world's leading lab diamond and super-materials producer. This is a full-time permanent opportunity that offers excellent benefits including 4 weeks PTO in addition to 40 hours of sick time, as well as structured career and professional development.

Primary Function:

The Production Supervisor oversees day to day production operations, ensuring production plans are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role provides leadership to production personnel, monitors output and material flow, troubleshoots production issues, and coordinates with Maintenance and other support teams. The position also drives process improvements and independently manages projects that support production efficiency and performance.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

• Create and manage production plans to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
• Lead daily production operations through Line Leads, providing direction and ensuring work is executed according to the production plan.
• Monitor production performance, workflow, and material flow to identify schedule deviations, delays, and potential production issues.
• Troubleshoot production problems and coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, MES, and other support teams to resolve issues and minimize disruption.
• Conduct shift handoffs with other Production Supervisors, communicating production status, schedule changes, outstanding issues, and priorities.
• Supervise and coach production employees, including providing direction, training, performance feedback, and accountability.
• Participate in hiring, scheduling, timecard approval, vacation approval, and other personnel and administrative activities as assigned.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and promote a production environment where employees are valued, supported, and held accountable to expectations.
• Monitor equipment, materials, and production workflow to support efficient operations and maintain required output.
• Ensure production tickets, issues, and required floor administration are kept current and appropriately addressed.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and participate in projects using Lean Six Sigma, 6S, or other applicable methodologies.
• Take ownership of assigned improvement projects focused on optimizing production processes, workflow, and team performance.
• Independently manage daily responsibilities, prioritize competing needs, and resolve routine production problems with limited direction.
• Make timely, practical decisions and provide clear guidance to Line Leads and production personnel.
• Perform production tasks or other duties as required and assigned by the Operations Manager.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or similar operational environment.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
