Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor off shift to oversee the flow of raw materials into high-quality finished products and ensure equipment is maintained.

The role requires strong leadership to guide plant staff, manage safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the production line in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Des Moines, IA. This on-site position offers weekend rotation and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work rotating weekend shifts.
• Prefer mechanical aptitude and leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the flow of raw materials to finished products and ensure timely production.
• Maintain and ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to repair breakdowns promptly.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in the plant.

The Production Supervisor Off Shift is responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient flow of raw materials into high-quality finished products; may also include ensuring that equipment is maintained and in good repair.

Duties/Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognize safety as top Company priority and conduct/participate regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
• Maintain efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received and finished products shipped.
• Oversee the equipment used to process raw & finished materials is kept in good working order.
• Effectively manage all instances of breakdowns and coordinates with Maintenance to ensure needed repairs are made in timely manner.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for achieving individual and department targets, goals and objectives.
• Responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognize safety as top Company priority and conduct/participate regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
• Assist in conducting investigation of accidents that occur within jurisdiction and makes recommendations to Plant Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory/management role.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work rotating weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Labor relations background and experience with leadership & training.
• Good understanding of production maintenance and repair protocols.
