Job summary

Prairie Farms Dairy in Dayton, OH is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee 10+ employees and manage the production, sanitation, storage, refrigeration, and load-out processes on the floor.

You will train and schedule staff, enforce GMPs and OSHA/EPA rules, handle inventory, daily documentation, and coordinate with Quality/Purchasing, ensuring safe, efficient operations and on-time product delivery.

• Handle purchasing of all items.
• Work directly with Quality/Purchasing Manager
• Back up to Quality/Purchasing Manager.
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Handle all Audits and inspections

Position Overview

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of 10+ employees. As such, (s)he will be responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed. They will be coordinating the processes and people involved in the Production, Sanitation, Storage, Refrigeration and load out of the products manufactured. They will assist in training, scheduling, inventorying and staffing. Will need to enforce and know the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), company rules, policies and procedures, Quality Control standard, OSHA regulations and EPA guidelines enforced at their location. Will be responsible for the startup, finish up, and cleanup, therefore. Position will require SQF certification and PCQI certification. This position will require the Supervisor to be working on the floor most of the day leading and assisting employees.

Required Qualifications

The following is preferred:

• Previous experience in a dairy plant.
• Experience in management of supervision capacity.
• Previous experience in perishable goods industry.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
