Job summary

Hilmar Cheese Company in Dalhart, TX, seeks an experienced supervisor to lead training and ensure policy adherence on the production floor. You will guide hourly staff and help uphold safety and quality standards across operations.

You will monitor USDA, CDFA, and FDA compliance, coach teams, and work with maintenance to resolve deviations while prioritizing environmental and safety commitments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required with related experience.
• Demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training, teaching, and educating employees on policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor and coach hourly staff on performance and practices.
• Ensure compliance with PMO, USDA, CDFA and FDA through verification processes.
• Troubleshoot process deviations related to control or uptime; collaborate with maintenance.
• Oversee production to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
• Prioritize safety above all other duties at all times.

A Typical Day

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with training, teaching, and educating employees on company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor and control personal practices at the floor level, provides guidance, coaching and mentoring of hourly staff.
• Monitor and control PMO, USDA, CDFA and FDA compliance through established verification processes.
• Effectively troubleshoots process deviations related to process control or mechanical up time, works closely with maintenance on scheduled and break in work.
• Overseas production, ensuring all employee safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
• Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.

What You Will Need

• High School diploma an 4 years related experience, Associates degree and 3 years related experience or Bachelor's degree and 1 years of related experience OR equivalent experience.
• Able to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree plus 4 years related experience.
• Experience with production process and working closely with other departments.
• CDFA Pasteurizer license.
• Experience with SAP.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role requires physical exertion, exposure to potentially hazardous conditions or safety hazards. The majority of time is spending walking or standing. There are occasional periods of sedentary work. Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations.
