Thrive Freeze Dry in Corona, CA is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. You will monitor staff, coordinate workflows, and work with the Plant Manager to drive safe, cost-effective production of our products.

Responsibilities include supervising the production floor, ensuring HACCP and GMP compliance, maintaining accurate production records, and leading shift scheduling.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience is required.
• Knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards is essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Dynamics NAV is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production department staff to ensure safe, efficient processing and quality output.
• Coordinate scheduling and shift assignments; manage workforce numbers.
• Assist in process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production records and timely reporting; ensure lot tracing.
• Enforce sanitation, safety and SOPs; train employees on tasks to reduce risk.

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Schedule: Sunday through Tuesday, Alternating Wednesdays, 5:00 PM- 5:00 AM

We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our production operations. You will ensure that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows. In a fast-paced environment like production, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. This position works closely with the Plant Manager and Floor Supervisor to manage personnel to direct, coordinate and assist in the day-to-day activities of the production department in the safe, cost-effective and efficient manufacturing of products.

Production Floor

• Supervise the performance of the production department employees ensuring safe, efficient processing of product while meeting quantitative and qualitative standards for production output, health and safety, HACCP, GMP, sanitation and product quality.
• Have a basic understanding of the freeze-drying process and the related implications of processing and handling of products
• Demonstrate the ability to operate production and packaging equipment
• Demonstrate the ability to complete production paperwork from all departments
• Assist in the management of work force numbers, scheduling and shift assignment within agreed standards
• Recommend process or equipment improvements, which would lead to quality or efficiency improvements - implement changes as agreed
• Minimize rework or damaged product due to employee handling and processing
• Delegate work assignments, troubleshoot operating problems and take preventative or corrective action
• Ensure that production reporting is accurate and timely, including weights and lot tracing information
• Work effectively with other departments to maximize product quality and plant efficiency
• Be hands on in the production process when necessary in all departments
• Ensure adequate training is provided for employees in specific work tasks to reduce or eliminate the risk of workplace injuries
• Ensure the safe operation of machinery and equipment
• Ensure that employees work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures
• Rigorously enforce standards of sanitation and product handling
• Other tasks assigned by the Plant Manager

Employee Engagement

• Assist in orientation of new hires
• Maintain consistent communication with employees; Engage with and promote a positive work environment for all employees
• Provide necessary training or coaching to employees
• Set an example for employees in professionalism, personal care/hygiene, behavior, and care of workspace
• Address and navigate difficult conversations with employees

Office

• Organize and maintain employee weekly/monthly schedules
• Lead daily employee huddles and monthly department meetings
• Maintain daily attendance tracking
• Complete weekly payroll review and submittal
• Work daily within Microsoft Office suite
• Responsible for handling employee reviews, one on one, disciplinary actions, incident reporting
• Daily inputs of production reports into inventory database (Microsoft Dynamics NAV)

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma -or-
• College Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field (preferred)

Work Experience

• 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment – Food manufacturing a plus!
• Prior supervisory experience a must

Technical

• HACCP, GMP knowledge
• Basic Microsoft Office Skills
• Mechanical skills a plus
