Production Supervisor | 1st Shift

A Day in the Life of a Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor (1st Shift) is responsible to maintain a safe work environment and ensures cGMP's are followed. The Supervisor is responsible for providing direction to the non-exempt employees on the production floor who are working in a manufacturing and assembly environment to ensure quality units are being produced in accordance with the weekly, daily and shiftly production schedules. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring new hires are trained in all aspects of their roles.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Successful candidate must be able to speak, read, and write in English; Bilingual/Spanish a strong plus.
  • Responsible for consistent observance of cGMP, SOP, and Safety Procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Provide leadership and direction to production employees by delegating duties and ensuring packaging operations are completed in a timely manner and according to SOPs.
  • Executing the production schedule, providing supervision and direction to production employees. Allocate resources to ensure minimum downtime and completion of scheduled activities. Prioritize and manage workload to ensure assignments address the objectives of the company, department, and customers.
  • Supervise and assist in the training of production processes. Provide training, guidance and coaching to employees in a consistent and constructive manner.
  • Communicate shift activity to employees and keep them informed of the changes to equipment, processes, and materials/supplies.
  • Conduct safety and orientation training with new employees.
  • Check and review shift production totals, compile reports to managers and supervisors.
  • Monitor the efficiency and quality of all production jobs. Review goals of production shift and identify root cause if goal was not obtained and report findings.
  • Assist in running and troubleshooting production jobs.
  • Work closely with peers to develop good team working relationship and cross shift team relationships.
  • Review production records for completeness and accuracy
  • Control and organize times and attendance records for production employees.
  • Manage employee conduct or performance problems in a manner consistent with Bocchi policies. Refer to Human Resources for advice and consultation as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, talking, writing, listening.
  • Occasional climbing ladders/steps, walking up inclines and uneven terrain, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, handling, turning, balancing, carrying, grasping.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
