Real Alloy in Michigan seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a 10-12 person crew in a foundry environment. You will schedule, direct, train, and coach staff to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will monitor material flow, coordinate with maintenance, and analyze process data to identify efficiency improvements. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential in this fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with at least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and develop a team in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise 10–12-person production crew in a foundry environment to meet quality and cost targets.
  • Schedule and direct employees; assign, monitor, and adjust workloads to meet timelines.
  • Train and coach staff to achieve production goals while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor material flow, inspect incoming materials, and coordinate with maintenance on equipment issues.
  • Maintain production records and prepare reports for management review.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Lead safety initiatives, conduct meetings, and ensure OSHA and company policy compliance.
  • Conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary issues as needed.

Job description

Supervise employees engaged in various production activities to ensure quality production at minimal cost in a safe working environment. Production crew is 10-12 people.Schedules and directs employees in assignment and completion of production work. Creates and trains a team of workers to achieve or exceed budgeted production goals while maintaining compliance with environmental and other regulatory requirements.Checks the types, location, quantity, and availability of materials needed to complete the production requirements for the shift. Checks records from previous shift, and alerts maintenance of potential equipment problems. Directs incoming material shipments where, when, and how to unload.Supports initiatives and projects which drive continual improvement, foster a culture of safety leadership, development of employees, and support business objectives.Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules. Determines overtime work schedule and approves time.Completes daily, all production information to be entered.Interprets instructions, specifications, or job orders to employees.Monitors production output and quality data. Maintains time and production records. Compiles reports for management review. Provides hands-on operation of furnaces with responsibility for optimizing recoveries.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase employee efficiency.Analyzes and resolves or assists workers in resolving work related problemsConducts meetings with employees and ensures compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and company policies and procedures.Conduct timely performance reviews, counseling sessions and disciplinary meetings as needed.Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments or shifts.Provides relief supervision during the week when possible.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Real Alloy policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
