Job summary

Crescent Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a large team, uphold safety, quality and asset performance, and deliver on the shift production plan. You will participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management and corrective action, coordinating with on-site groups to align with Crescent Foods' standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred for candidate.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in food plant operations, food safety or sanitation.
• Experience with OSHA, EPA and NFPA and related standards.
• Certifications in Food Safety, HACCP and GMP.
• 1-3 years direct reports with supervisory experience.
• Poultry, Meat handling, preparing or cooking background required.
• Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous line controls and immediate corrective action to guarantee quality and regulatory compliance.
• Direct and coordinate plant operations per policies.
• Enforce GMP; validate processes; document HACCP; manage staff.
• Meet production plans and productivity/financial goals.
• Provide leadership through coaching, training and development.
• Establish shifts production and manage product quality per orders.
• Train staff on waste control and production efficiency.
• Assist in inventory control and production cost management.
• Support external audits (GFSI - BRC/SQF) and customer audits.
• Communicate updates to the Production Master Scheduler.
• Assist with team performance metrics and career development.
• In the absence of the Production Supervisor, the Production Master Scheduler will fill in.

Job description

The role of the Production Supervisor is to ensure employee safety, product quality and asset performance while delivering on time the shift/line/area production plan. This is accomplished by leading alarge team ofemployees. Leadership of people includes participating in the hiring process, employee on-boarding, performance management and corrective action. Pro-active cooperation with other groups on site and withinCrescent Foodsto ensure that their area and people are fully aligned with thecompany.While ensuring manufacturing key performancemetricindicators support the highest level of customer service and manufacturing efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous line Controls and immediate corrective action to assure prescribed quality and to ensure compliance with manufacturing instructions, internal and external regulations, procedures & policies
• Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures
• Assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP); validates processes; providing documentation;HACCPand managing staffthroughout the production plant.
• Accountable on conformance to manufacturing plans, meeting established performance metrics and achieving productivity/financial goals
• Providing leadership for employee through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
• Responsible for establishing all shifts production
• Responsible for the product qualityand quantity according to daily customer orders
• Train and lead production staff on waste control,
• Assist in production activity control to meet business and financial objectives.
• Assist with the development ofinventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses
• Assistin controlling production costs while maintaining the quality standards
• Assistin external auditing schemes such as GFSI - BRC / SQF-Safe Quality Food requirements including various customer / 3rd party audit expectations.
• Assist with the management ofcustomer service activities including order entry, customer satisfaction, interface with sales, production, labs, regulatory, and quality ensuring that Crescent Foods customer service creates competitive advantage in marketplace including resolving critical customer complaints
• Communicate production updatesto the Production Master Scheduler
• Assist Production Master Scheduler withteam performance metrics, evaluates productivity, and helpsmanagement and employeescreate long-term career plans withinCrescent Foods
• In the absence of the ProductionSupervisorthe Production Master Schedulerwill fill-in.
• Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of state, local and federal food safety laws including SQF, USDA, GMP’s, CCP, HACCP, SSOPs and SOPs, Food Defense and Food Safety Culture guidelines and regulations.
• Proficient in standard business office software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Fluency in written and verbal English
• Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability and professional demeanor

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s DegreePreferred
• Demonstrated experience in working with frozen food forms and FSMA compliance
• Minimum of3years’ experience in food plant operations, food safety, sanitation and or pest control.
• Experience with OSHA, EPA and other regulations and standards such as NFPA (National Fire Protection Association.
• Certifications in Food Safety, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• 1-3years direct reports with supervisory experience
• Poultry, Meat, andhandling, preparing or cooking backgrounda must
• Ability to speakand communicatein Spanish, a plus but not mandatory
