Position Title: Production Supervisor

Location: Burley, ID, United States

About the Role

The Production Supervisor in Burley, ID will effectively manage raw materials and human resources throughout processing and packing to produce quality finished products per the pre‑established pack plan. Responsibilities include maintaining safety, quality, and sanitation standards while meeting production and cost targets in alignment with McCain’s continuous improvement strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Personnel management of the shift, addressing performance concerns, issuing corrective action, and conducting grievance investigations to reduce turnover and absenteeism.
  • Maintain a safety‑conscious culture, complete accident investigation reports, and conduct monthly safety observations.
  • Ensure GMPs are met to satisfy FDA requirements.
  • Operate within established cost and production standards, keeping shop floor records and logbooks accurate and up to date.
  • Communicate closely with the Shift Manager and Scheduler to guarantee completion of weekly pack requirements.
  • Achieve production standards safely and efficiently while maintaining quality and sanitation standards.
  • Minimize inventory by managing shift held and bulk, planning labor, and using tote movement and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate equipment malfunctions with maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and yearly performance evaluations to employees to foster development and utilization of skills.
  • Promote continuous improvement, participating in process improvement initiatives, employee training, and use of SPC.
  • Maintain a safety‑conscious attitude within the department and ensure regular monthly meetings are conducted.
  • Ensure the Plant Emergency Organization is organized and workable on shift.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in production, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience coordinating multiple production projects and operations, with strong employee‑relations skills.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices, problem‑solving, and decision‑making.
  • Ability to manage conflict, change, people, and systems while meeting quality and scheduling objectives.
  • Proficiency with plant measurement systems: operator reports, key reports, quality reports, pack and recovery reports.
  • Moderate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP.
  • Strong background in employee relations, tact, good judgment, and fair relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish good lines of communication with supervisors and all employees, using the MCE philosophy.
Compensation

$65,500.00 – $87,400.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility.
