Job summary

TerrAscend in Boonton, NJ, seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee post-harvest and packaging for both non-flower and flower products in the grow facility. You will lead shifts, ensure safety, quality, throughput, and on-time production while coordinating with site management on daily plans and company initiatives.

The Production Supervisor will oversee the post-harvest and packaging function for both non-flower and flower products in the grow facility.

Job Duties and Essential Functions:

• Supervises employees and maintains safety, quality, efficiency, throughput, and on time performance to schedule.
• Works with the site management team to execute daily production plan, site initiatives, and company initiatives.
• Continually improves all aspects of the assigned area.
• Position will float between all departments.
• Main point on contact for all staff and vendors during 2nd shift operating hours.
• Assist in the planning and production schedules, ensuring targets are met within given time frames.
• Monitoring production processes, ensuring efficiencies and quality standards are met. Identify or resolve issues or bottlenecks that may affect production output.
• Managing inventory and supplies, includes monitoring supply levels, placing orders through procurement.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, OSHA regulations.
• Reporting and documentation,responsible for maintaining accurate production records, preparing reports on production, efficiency and quality.
• Drives and leads continuous improvement activities on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Promotes development of current and future team leaders in preparation for higher levels of leadership.
• Maintains flexibility to work any shift.
• Communicate to Management of any facility emergencies or equipment failures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Identifies and mentors high potential team members to prepare them for the next steps. This includes one- on-one time to have them learn from Experience of doing, Exposure to situation, and Education for skills.
• Coach all team members to improve and understand basic improvement mindset, job duties, and safety.
• Delegates as needed to team leaders to help grow them and balance supervisor workload.
• Resolves conflicts between people, shifts, departments, and sites.
• Motivates the team to always hit and exceed goals, pointing out and correcting concerns or issues.
• Appraises performance of employee owners within the assigned area. Gives immediate feedback on performance concerns and frequent feedback on progress. Performs Performance Evaluations each year with all EO’s that cover previous year’s performance (with no surprises), areas needing improvement, progress during the past year, and any personal development items that should be worked on together.
