Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Production Superintendent for Machine Shop, Assembly and Paint to lead safety, quality, and lean initiatives in a high-volume plant.

You will drive staffing, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational goals and deliver reliable water infrastructure products. Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of manufacturing leadership, an engineering background, strong problem-solving and people-skills, and a proven ability

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or other appropriate field required.
• Minimum 7+ years of actual manufacturing operations experience in a high-volume environment with a Union workforce.
• Strong work ethic and demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Strategy Deployment and drive continuous improvement in production.
• Lead staffing decisions and optimize productivity.
• Manage inventory to support JIT requirements and production planning.
• Coach and develop department personnel and establish standard work.
• Maintain positive relations with the union and ensure compliance with bargaining agreements.
